prepared

Since both of us work late and have a long commute, by the time we get home from work neither of us want to think about dinner. For me, the hardest part of the whole dinner process is deciding what to make. Once that decision is made, it's easy from there! But when I get home, I'm usually too exhausted to make a decision! Thus, dinner often turns into cereal, chips and salsa, or popcorn!

To overcome this, Adam had the great idea to plan our meals ahead of time! (Brilliant!) So we put together a list of all the meals we love or recipes we'd like to try. For example, pastas and chicken:

So every Sunday we plan out what we'll make each night of the week and shop for the ingredients we need so that we're prepared to cook.

Adam cooks on Fridays. That makes me happy :)

By the way- we stole the whiteboard in the kitchen idea from our friends. Thanks Hangs!!

wheelwatching

Last week, we got two free tickets to see a taping of Wheel of Fortune! They were taping for "College Week" so we displayed (my) school pride and got decked out in Northwestern gear.

Other than having to stand in line for 2 hours waiting to see the second taping at 9pm, it was pretty sweet! And it's pretty much as close to national television as I've ever been I think.

We were warned by the friendly announcer (white haired guy, you'd definitely recognize his voice) that we were not allowed to even whisper the answers or letters during the game so that the contestants couldn't gain an unfair advantage. If so, they 'd have to throw out that round and escort us out! Apparently it happened a few years ago in San Francisco. And we weren't allowed to take pictures, which was too bad, but understandable.

It was a really fun show to watch. The person who won, won BIG! Here's a snapshot of the show (is this allowed? don't remember hearing anything about it!). The clue for the bonus round was "fictional character" and these were the letters to go on:

_ E _ _
_ N _ _ _ T

Do you know it? I didn't! If Adam was playing, he would have won a yellow convertible at the end cause he knew it. Anyway, it was a cool show and if you ever have the opportunity to go, I recommend it!! (and bring some snacks and stuff to do while you wait!) At the end, they handed out these cute magnetic pins that lit up:

Be sure to watch Wheel of Fortune on May 2nd, 2008 and look for us in the crowd!! Every time the cameras came near us, Adam was sure to wave his huge monkey arms (his words, not mine) several times in the air, so be on the lookout!

married to the bread(gum)winner

Today Adam started his new job at WRIGLEY! Congratulations on your new job, hun! I know you'll rock their socks off!

Last week they sent home all of the health benefits information for us to review and included this little treasure box:

Wrigley makes all kids of gum and mints like the those in the picture as well as Altoids, Orbit, Juicy Fruit, and Lifesavers! If you want an interesting read, check out gum is good and read about the four reasons why it’s GOOD to chew gum! For instance...

There you have it, get chewing! And Go Adam, my awesome gum engineer!

We're back from warm and sunny San Antonio! We had a ton of fun hanging out with Rick, Karen, Matthew and Carly. Here's Adam and Matt rockin to High School Musicial on Wii!

Here they caught a huge grasshopper somewhere *near* the home!

Thanks for the fun weekend guys!!

And FYI- this is what happens when you leave your amaryllis alone for 4 days!

It looked like it was screaming "Get me out of here!"
