At the zoo!

We got a membership to the Brookfield Zoo this year and we’ve already been getting our money’s worth. Lydia LOVES animals!! I think her favorites are the ones she can interact with! Here she is feeding the goats with Daddy!

She loved it when they licked her hands! Yuck!! She did not get that from me!!

A little more hesitant about brushing them…

way out west

Lydia took her first trip to Washington back in June for Adam’s cousin’s wedding.

We all had a great time catching up with family. Lydia loved spending time with her cousin Rebekah.

Rhrodri and Tori’s wedding was simply beautiful- right off a Seattle dock.

We took a trip to Anderson Island via the ferry. It has gorgeous views of Mount Rainer.

at Grandma and Grandpa’s

In May, Lydia took her first airplane trip to Connecticut to visit Grandma and Grandpa!

DSC_1733

She did great on the plane despite the early departure!

DSC_1856

She loved hanging out with Grandpa. He did such a great job of getting her to sleep!!

DSC_2471DSC_2376

At Grandma’s, babies get to take baths in a big tupperware bowl! Lydia fit perfectly in it- with her legs fully extended, she sat up straight making it easy to bathe her ;)

We also took a road trip to New Hampshire to see my cousin, Tim, get married. It was Lydia’s first wedding… she slept for most of it, but at least she looked cute!

Back at home we added Lydia to Grandma’s wall of tracking the grandchildrens’ heights!

Lydia sure loved visiting you, Grandma and Grandpa! Hope we can come again soon!

a cousin

Lydia’s cousins were all dressed in the same Pooh outfit at 3 months:

Here’s Lydia in the same outfit at 3 months. Do you see a resemblance??

at the botanical gardens

We took advantage of the long Easter weekend and went to the Chicago Botanic Gardens.

Not too much was in bloom yet, but it was really fun to walk around and enjoy the sun.

We got a membership so that we can have free parking this year. So any Moms in the area- let me know if you want to go with us sometime during the week!!

Picasa is the computer program we use to organize and edit our photos. It has this “I’m feeling lucky” button that I use to optimize the colors and contrasts of photos. It pretty well sums up how I feel about these two photos:

hanging out at home

Lydia and I have been having a good time hanging out at home lately…

She started “playing” with her activity gym:

We got to hang out with Aunt Robin and the cousins last week.

This is Andrew with “Lilia”

And after bath time yesterday morning, I captured a smile on camera!!

DSC_3060 Of course, we still have our share of rough days! Lydia spits up quite a bit these days and is always very upset with me when I stop her mid-mealtime to burp!

She also doesn’t seem to enjoy napping for long periods of time in her crib during the day, but would rather cry or sleep in our arms, in her bouncy seat, or in her car seat if we’re out. Is this the appropriate time to let her “cry it out” in her crib? I’d love any advice from you experienced Moms out there!
