Lydia’s first HALF birthday!

Lydia is now 6 months old! She weighs 16lbs, 2 oz and is 26.5 in tall.

She’s grown so much in the last two months. She loves playing with toys and even has certain favorites now. She can sit very well on her own, and can even go to a sitting position from her tummy all on her own. She is excellent at blowing “raspberries” and giving kisses, mostly wet slobbery open-mouthed ones, to Mommy and Daddy. :)

She is a pro at eating solids now. She has tried rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potato, white potato, squash, green beans, carrots and parsnips. Mommy is {slowly!} trying to expose her to as many veggies as possible before starting on the sweet yummy fruits (we’re pretty sure she’s got Mommy’s sweet tooth!)

Speaking of teeth- she got her first 2!

Lydia can now put her paci in her mouth by herself (but not at night) which is great, especially  when in the car! She has been in her jumper more and more now and is still getting the hang of it…

Her sleeping has improved significantly in the past month. She now sleeps at night (unswaddled) from ~7pm to 5 or 6am, eats, and then goes back to sleep till 7ish. She still wakes up every now and then for a paci, but will go right back to sleep with it. For naps (2-3 per day), she’s still swaddled and rocked to sleep, which Mommy needs to work on over the next month… but one thing at a time ;)

She ends up all over the living room, has dumped over some baskets, and recently discovered how exciting even the hard wood floor can be.

And most recently, she has shown that she can actually go forward on her hands and knees! Some would say it’s just “creeping” but we call it CRAWLING! A video will be posted soon as proof… ;)
