rolling over!

Lydia rolled over for the first time on Saturday!!

While on her tummy she started getting a little fussy and I could tell she was done, but then she started to move and all of the sudden she was on her back! When she realized it, she started crying! It was kinda cute ;). Daddy walked in the door 5 min later and she did it again for him! I can’t believe she’s growing up so fast! Ahh!

She’s holding her head up so well that we bought her this little Bumbo seat. I think she likes being upright and watching everything that’s going on! Her head is still a little bobbley in it though!

A couple days ago Daddy decided to let Lydia try her first popsicle…

She didn’t like it too much. Ah well, maybe when it gets a little warmer she’ll go for something cold and refreshing!

Speaking of warmer, we had a couple beautiful sunny days last week and we were finally able to take her out for a walk to show her our neighborhood!

Daddy bought her a couple pairs of sunglasses and I bought her the hat. :)

Adam recently started a Lydia 365 photo album on facebook where he uploads a photo of Lydia taken everyday. That means she’s had lots of cute photo shoots lately! Here are some of my favorites…

Bath time for Lydia is now tolerable! She even smiles once in a while now :)

I’ve figured out that if I keep her in the bath while I’m washing her hair, she stays much warmer and happier.

My goal was to get this post out by January 8, 2010, but Lydia’s nursery wasn’t quite finished until now.

No theme, just the colors and motifs that we liked.

An advantage to not finishing the room until after Lydia’s birth: we can have pictures of her up on the wall :)

The glider was a hand-me-down from Lydia’s cousins. I recovered it with a neutral off-white fabric that can be removed for laundering. Turns out, it hides spit-up stains perfectly!

Her first personalized gift… a cute Noah’s Ark piggy bank!

I found this cute butterfly fabric on clearance last fall and made some pillows over Christmas break.

We were planning on painting a cute little design over her crib, but when January rolled around and nothing was done, we decided to buy this stick-on wall decal from an etsy shop.

Actually great news- Lydia slept through the night last night!! From 9pm till 5am we didn’t hear a peep from her! We’ll see if that was just a fluke or if she can keep that going from now on…!?

2 months old!

Guess what!

Lydia just had her two month check-up. She is 10 and a half pounds, 22 and a half inches. She is growing right on track. She had a couple vaccination shots today which was no fun for either of us, but we got through it!

On an attempt to get her on a “schedule”, I’ve been waking Lydia up/leaving her in her crib till 8am. Many times I go in and she is wide-eyed and smiling, other times not so much! Her sleep at night has been varying greatly- sometimes 6 hours stretches, other times she wakes up every 3 hours on the dot. But maybe if I keep up the morning routine and carry it throughout the day, she’ll start getting a little more predictable at night?! We’ll see!

Lydia is 2 months old today and has been smiling all morning! Every time I got the video camera out she would stop and fixate on it, but I finally caught her off guard here :)



Her 2 month check up is Wednesday, I'll be sure to give an update after it.
