A GIRL!

We’re having a little baby girl!

IMG_7360

Monday’s ultrasound was so fun! She was moving around A LOT so the pictures aren’t super clear, but they are still great!

After the ultrasound, I had just finished telling the nurse that I wasn’t 100% sure I had felt the baby move yet…

Then while lying down waiting for the doctor, I felt a few jabs or kicks! I had Adam come over and put his hand on me, and he felt her too!! It was like she heard us- very exciting :)

One thing the technician and doctor noted was that my placenta is “slightly low” which means if I were to give birth right now, I may likely need a C-section. They find that in most women who have low placentas at 20 weeks. it moves up from there, so they will just monitor it again with another ultrasound in 8 weeks. So please pray that everything goes smoothly!

After finding out the news on Monday night, we called our family, posted it on facebook…

I think he looks terrific in pink, don’t you!?

****One thing I almost forgot to add! We saw her YAWN on the ultrasound too! It was so cute!****

married 5 years!

Last Friday Adam and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary! On Thursday night, we decided to take a spur of the moment weekend getaway to South Haven, Michigan.

IMG_7218

It's a cute little town on east coast of Lake Michigan which makes for awesome sunsets!!

This year, we have even more to celebrate as we await the little precious addition to our family! :)

One summer back in High School, I lived with my aunt and uncle in South Haven while I worked at their embroidery store and hotdog stand. It was fun going back and remembering all the sites, shops, and restaurants. Adam and I brought our bikes so we could ride into the downtown area from our hotel (only 1 mile away).

Across the street from our hotel is Sherman’s Dairy Bar, AKA the BEST ice cream we have EVER had!!!! We waited 45 minutes at 10pm on Friday for it and it was SO WORTH IT!!

And since we don’t live nearby, we had to take advantage of this delicious little find a SECOND night in a row!  (Hey- I’m eating for two, right!?) This is me holding our “baby size” (Mackinac island fudge- on the left) and “single size” (blackberry- on the right) ice cream cones!! So huge and so good!!

What a great weekend!

Happy Anniversary, sweetie!! I love you now more than ever!

Pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the latest picture from our bathroom remodel! ;)

We did two, just to be sure, and they were both positive soo...

We're Having a Baby!!! :-D

We're going to be PARENTS!!

(It's still sinking in!)

We are so excited!!

Here is our little "bun in the oven" at 10 weeks:

And again at 11 weeks:

I've already had 4 doctor appointments and everything is going very smoothly. I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time last Monday and it was soo soo precious!!

Currently, I am 17 weeks along, due January 8, 2010!!

I've been so blessed to have very little morning sickness or any other bad 1st trimester symptoms; a few moments here and there but not much at all! And other than a little motion sickness and fatigue, I've just been enjoying this time of imagining what our little bundle of joy will be like! :) We truly see this as a blessing from God and we look forward to drawing closer to Him as we learn about love, sacrifice, and all the joys of parenthood!

We are also so thankful for all the amazing family and friends we have in our lives, many of whom are parents themselves- we're counting on YOU for your advice, support, and prayer! Thank you!!

at Lake of the Ozarks!

A couple weekends ago we had a mini Hunt family reunion at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri!!

I realize I picked waaaay too many photos for just one post, so I'll try to minimize the words I use to make up for it!

We stayed at my aunt and uncle's house while they were gone. They had a large pontoon boat that we took advantage of many times!

We swam...

we relaxed...

we fished...

... and even went tubing off the boat!

We celebrated Father's Day...

went to Osage Beach outlet mall (this is the Crocs store)...

discovered animals...

had picnics...

enjoyed the sunsets...

and had campfires and s'mores galore!

Mostly, we just had FUN!

I {heart} my family!

Let's do it again in 2010!!

97% done!

Here are some pictures of our recent progress!!
We went a bit crazy in the last few days of getting it fully functional before family arrived:

I was so happy when we had finally made our last major purchase for the bathroom...

Adam really wanted to get a "comfort height" (a.k.a handicap) toilet. It's 2 inches taller than normal toilets. He loves it, but my feet almost dangle from it because it's so tall!

And here's the (nearly) finished product!!

Inside the shower is a nice niche for bottles and soap.

I think the tiling is my favorite part of all of it :)

And every blogger has to have one of these shots, right?

The roomy storage in the medicine cabinet and baskets allowed us to free up 2-3 shelves in one of our hall closets.

Close-up of the faucet.

This picture reminds me of an intriguing question I read in a blog post a while back:

Are you a "sink" or a "faucet" Christian?
“Sink Christians” view salvation like they would a sink. The water of salvation flows into the sink so that Christians can soak up all the benefits: eternal life, assurance in the present, strength in times of trial. Those who adopt this mindset concentrate solely on what the Bible says God has done and will do for them.

“Faucet Christians” view salvation differently. They look at the world as the sink and themselves as the faucet. The blessings of salvation flow to them in order to flow through them out to the wider world. They rightly see that the Bible describes salvation as something that God not only does for them, but also through them.

I know I definitely need to have more of a "wider world" perspective and not just in my own church or community of friends, but in the world I bump shoulders with on the street, in the store, on the train, etc.

I think we'll take a break from remodeling for a little while and start working on being better "faucets"!

**** Update!!*****
I realized I didn't add a "before" picture, so here it is!! The layout is the same, but otherwise quite different, huh!?

The other 3% includes some touch-up painting and building the baseboard heating covers! (same thing that's still not done in the kitchen!!) We're also thinking about getting a curved shower curtain rod :)
